I feel I must address this on the site as today I received a phone call from a fellow TYHP Huntmaster saying he heard a "rumor" that the HCB Huntmasters were going to conduct TYHP hunts using HCB youth only in selecting the hunting group. THIS IS COMPLETELY INCORRECT! The only TYHP youth hunt that has been conducted by HCB certified Huntmasters was on Dec 19,20,21, 2003. The landowner donated this hunt specifically for the youth membership of the Hill Country Bowhunters and was a reward for their participation in TPW workshops & work credits gained from participating in the HCB 3D activites, (shoots & workdays). In this case, yes only HCB youth were selected by respecting the landowners wishes. I hope this clarifies any misunderstanding anyone has concerning the TYHP youth hunts.

I'm glad that the kids who worked and participated had the opportunity to hunt. It teaches the kids that they have to work in order to earn something. I'm glad that the ranch owners recognized that.

On another note to be cleared up. Hunter, my son was not a hunter on this hunt and he did not hunt. He did fish though and had a blast.
