Fri- Hamburgers, Sat- Bring your own steaks or what ever you want grilled. If every body will pick up one bag of chips and a package of hamburger we will be fine. I will pick up eggs, bacon, tortillas, buns, and condiments. Lettuce, tomatos, onions etc...Bring your beverage of choice. Soda, beer, liqour, etc... I also ask that each person brings 2 bags of corn. One bag for corning the roads and the others for baiting around Ice Blinds and feeling feeders maybe. BRING SLEEPING BAGS !!!! Swat. Is the hamburger & sausage meat frozen? If not & it hasn't been frozen, put it in the freezer & keep it that way until about noon on Fri. It should thaw for use Fri evening. I will also cut some "survey like" stakes, put orange survey tape on them and mark the right side of the hwy about 100 & 50 yard before the left turn. I may even paint the stakes orange. Course all that didn't help Hogkiller last spring. LOL. Don't forget pillows & wet weather gear. It has been known to rain on or about that weekend. LOL. Right Brandon?

Just a few more days !!!!!!!!!!! Man I am excited. For those that went on the Turkey hunt, know what to expect....kinda. For those that did not....well here goes. The ranch house will sleep everybody. Please bring sleeping bags, pillows and towels. There is a shower and bath with hot water. The water is pumped from the creek so no drinking. I will bring some bottled water so you may want to bring some. There are a few ranch rules: 1) Leave all worries and @itching at home. We are there to have a good time. 2) Re-read rule number 1 All other rules will be discussed at the ranch. Bring warm clothes. It is suppose to be cold and this time of year the weather can change quickly. There is no phone service out there. You can get out on your cell in certain areas of the ranch. If someone needs to contact for emergencies only have them call my wife Shelly at 830-798-7755. I will check in with her at least twice a day. If its is an immediate emergency they can call the Menard County Sheriff's department. The ranch is the Bowen ranch or the Old F.D. Kothmann place. They know where it is at. This is for emergency ONLY!!!!! I will update through the week.

And while I am thinking about it if we can have an official roll call for those that are coming. Right now I know: ME Oleman Flinger Wiz Missy Swat Tammy Denton Hogkiller Am I forgetting anybody.....Johnny, Foot, Jackalope... Doeboy & Pedro Sorry you can't make it.

I am still thinking it has to be some what better there weather wise. It was 54 two days ago and it is below zero this afternoon and still dropping. Plus we got 6-8 inches of snow yesterday and last night. So after thinking about one second, I am still planning on being there. Sorry Wiz, some one has to pick on ya. Brandon, do you have coffee for the OLEMAN? You know how he is in the morning, no use in having a sleepy, cranky, retired senior, with no coffee to place him in a some what of a better frame of mind. I can bring him some freeze dried coffee if nothing else!!!

Foot! Thought you were my friend & here you are picking on a senior. BTW, you ain't far behind! LOL. Seriously guy, be safe. Read... there is some snow & ice, so be careful. And then, you may already be in the area, camping beside the fishing lake, laughing at us being worried cause it may be in the freezing zone tonight. If not, drive safe, call me when you get in the area, & you can go up to the ranch with Flinger & I.

Ole, Guess being a senior, and not working at Walmart saying hey to everyone, makes for having fewer friends. Glad I at least was your friend, hope I can get on your good side again, some day. Will be headed that way maybe in the afternoon tomorrow, or Wednesday morning for sure. Hoping the roads will not be so snow covered, so waiting till last minute to leave. Will give ya call or stop by your place. Heard the fishing is slow down there now anyway.

Few Rules --- You can bring your 4-wheelers. All I ask is that they stay on the roads unless your recovering a deer. Also no hot rodding. --- Everybody must stay in their stands until a predetermined time. No wondering around. If an animal is shot please stay in your stand, unless you see the animal fall. Two reasons for this. 1) while tracking you may accidently roam into someone else's area and ruin their hunt. 2) By staying in your stand you have a very god chance of getting a double. These deer are not to "educated". This doesn't mean they are tame but they are by no means heavily pressured.

Almost time. Just want to remind everyone to bring sleeping bags, pillows, and towels. Also bring drinking water and any other beverages that you prefer (milk, juice, beer, etc... Looks like it may be cool but you better bring an extra cooler or two full of ice for the deer. Don't forget that we will have a heaviest doe and longest spike contest. $5.00 apiece to get in, winner takes all. Should be a lot of fun. I know that there is a 12+" spike out there just don't know where. ( Dad won't tell me)

Also each person should bring a couple bags of corn, lawn chairs, snacks. Almost time to load. Foot is on his way down from Illinois. Should be here tomorrow AM. The trailer is loaded with firewood logs so we won't have to get wood. I have 3 large jugs of bottled water, but you may want to bring small bottles.
