Sandra and Curtis, our friends from Montana, are back in Texas. They'll be here for a few months. During that time they're going to teach archery instructor courses. I took the Level II course last year at UT and learned a ton of stuff. You can benefit from these courses even if you don't plan to be a coach. Here is the info on the courses and the contact info if you're interested in taking the course.

ARCHERY- COMING TO TEXAS SCHOOLS

TEXAS PARKS & WILDLIFE AND THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY ARE SPONSORING A 10 SCHOOL, ARCHERY IN THE SCHOOLS, PILOT PROGRAM.

EACH SCHOOL WILL RECEIVE ALL EQUIPMENT NECESSARY TO RUN AN ARCHERY PROGRAM.

EACH SCHOOL WILL BE REQUIRED TO SEND AT LEAST ONE PERSON TO ARCHERY INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION COURSES HELD AT GRANDVIEW, TEXAS, FEBRUARY 7-8, 2004. THESE COURSES ARE ALSO OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

LEVEL I CERTIFICATION-SATURDAY, FEB. 7, 7 AM-3 PM. THIS CERTIFIES INSTRUCTORS TO WORK WITH BEGINNERS.

LEVEL II CERTIFICATION-SATURDAY & SUNDAY FEB. 7 & 8, 7 AM-8 PM. LEVEL II INSTRUCTORS WILL ALSO BE CERTIFIED TO TRAIN LEVEL I INSTRUCTORS.

NO PREVIOUS ARCHERY EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.

FEES WILL INCLUDE WORKBOOKS AND CERTIFICATION CREDENTIALS GOOD FOR 3 YEARS, AND THE REQUIRED NAA MEMBERSHIP FOR LEVEL II’S.
